Twitter Mashed Up Game of Thrones and Hamilton and It's Perfect

Even creator Lin-Manuel Miranda got in on the fun of #HamOfThrones.

Have you heard of Hamilton? It's this little Broadway musical that's slowly taking over the world, having won a Pulitzer, been invited to the White House, won a Grammy and been nominated for 16 Tony Awards. Now it's gotten an even better treat: the Twittersphere decided to mash it up with Game of Thrones.

Turns out the hit musical about the life of one of America's founding fathers, Alexander Hamilton, mashes up perfectly with Game of Thrones. Using the hashtag #HamOfThrones, brilliant minds around the Internet came together to give us the gift of matching Hamilton lyrics to surprisingly perfect Game of Thrones situations.

"What Comes Next?" is really all about Daenerys Targaryen (and really, what does come next for her?):

Cersei Lannister has a lot in common with Angelica Schuyler:

Jon Snow has a lot to relate to in "Right-Hand Man":

So does Jaime Lannister:

Tyrion really is non-stop:

There's definitely a bit of Alexander Hamilton in Petyr Baelish:

As Jon and Sansa said, if only they had known then what they know now:

It's just too perfect:

And of course, the true King George of the world of ice and fire:

In fact, the trend was so good that Hamilton creator/writer/star/mastermind Lin-Manuel Miranda even got in on the fun.

Even during the intermission of a performance of Hamilton.

This should leave Hamilton and Game of Thrones fans satisfied, but will that be enough? Showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have been known to incorporate musicians into the show before, and this would be a shot that would be silly to throw away.

Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET/PT on HBO. Check out the newest images from next Sunday's episode, and read our interview with Kristian Nairn, who plays Hodor.

Terri Schwartz is Entertainment Editor at IGN and pretty much only listens to the Hamilton soundtrack on her commute. (It's a real problem.) Talk to her on Twitter at @Terri_Schwartz.
