27th Battleborn hero is a sneaker-wearing snake called Pendles

"Pendles is a cold-blooded killer. No, literally."

Gearbox has whipped the cloak off a second post-launch hero for its first-person shooter Battleborn, and it's a two legged snake called Pendles.

A description on Gearbox's Battleborn blog reads: "Hailing from the water world of Akopos, and pals with Alani, Pendles is a cold-blooded killer. No, literally. This anthropomorphized reptile will ssssneak up on you, poison you, perforate you with dual kamas then – poof – disappear without leaving a trace."

Pendles is a Rogue class character, and will be free for all players who have earned 47,500 credits in-game. Alternatively, he can be yours instantaneously if you've got your hands on a Hero Key.

The reptilian rogue will stand as the 27th hero in the Battleborn lineup, and will be slithering into the game sometime in "the next couple of months."

This week's Battleborn update introduced the first free DLC character of the series, Alani. She's available now for people who bought the Battleborn Digital Deluxe edition, the season pass, or who signed up for the PS4 Beta. Everyone else will have to unleash her "warrior-monk healer" fury when she rolls out on May 31.
