Gal Gadot, who has risen to fame playing Wonder Woman, will host Saturday Night Live this fall.
As revealed on the official Saturday Night Live Twitter account, the Israeli actress will host NBC's iconic sketch comedy program on October 7. Joining her is musical guest Sam Smith, who performed on a previous episode of SNL in 2014.
Gadot's episode will be the second of the season. Ryan Gosling will host and Jay-Z will appear as the musical guest in the season opener, which airs on September 30. Meanwhile, Kumail Nanjiani and P!nk will be featured in the third episode, which airs on October 14.
In a subsequent post on Twitter, NBC confirmed the new season of Saturday Night Live will broadcast live from coast to coast all throughout the season. As such, on October 7 viewers in New York and Los Angeles will be able to watch Gadot host at the same time.
Gadot starred as Wonder Woman, aka Diana Prince, in DC's massively successful superhero film. While a sequel to Wonder Woman will open in December 2019, Gadot will first reprise her role in Justice League, which opens in theaters on November 17, 2017.
Saturday Night Live garnered a fair amount of attention at the 2017 Emmys. Not only did SNL win Best Variety Sketch Series, Kate McKinnon and Alec Baldwin took home statues for their supporting roles.
Chris Morgan is the author of The Comic Galaxy of Mystery Science Theater 3000 and The Ash Heap of History. Wisely or not, he's also on Twitter.
