Raymond "Ray" Terrill is a reporter who finds himself with light-based powers after exposure to a "genetic light bomb." The crossover show and animated series will build off Grant Morrison's take on the character in his Multiversity series, which reinvented The Ray's origin and re-imagined him a gay superhero.

EW also debuted a poster for the crossover along with its title, Crisis on Earth X. The image drawn by comic artist Phil Jimenez is a nod to Crisis on Infinite Earths and features the heroes battling evil versions of themselves.
