The Sunday night premiere of Star Trek: Discovery generated a record number of sign-ups for CBS All Access, the network announced.
As reported by Deadline, CBS claims the single-day sign-up numbers for its subscription-based streaming service eclipsed the prior record high set by the 2017 Grammy Awards back in February.
The series premiere of Star Trek: Discovery, which received a special telecast on CBS, pulled in a fairly large audience. According to Entertainment Weekly, the broadcast of the premiere garnered 9.6 million viewers. Factoring in a full week's worth of delayed viewing, the network expects that number to reach 15 million viewers.
Immediately following the series premiere, the second episode was available for streaming, and each subsequent episode of Star Trek: Discovery will be released on Sunday nights, exclusively on CBS All Access. Head over to our guide how to watch Star Trek: Discovery for additional details.
