Ron Howard Teases Iconic Star Wars Scene in Han Solo Spin-off

Wait a parsec, what?

The Han Solo Star Wars anthology film may include the Kessel Run - you may remember that Han and the Millennium Falcon made it in less than 12 parsecs (or at least he said he did).

Writing on Twitter, Ron Howard - the replacement director on the spin-off film - posted what looks like a shot in a mine, with the caption "Spicey?"

If you know your Kessel Run, you'll know that the planet Kessel is home to spice mines (spice being the basis of a dangerous drug in the galaxy far, far away), and that the Run is performed by smugglers transporting the illegal substance.

Canon sources disagree on whether Han did or didn't make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs - it seems we may be about to find out.

Howard has been relatively talkative about the film (at least compared to the usual secrecy around Star Wars projects) since replacing Phil Lord and Chris Miller - including revealing a shot of a new alien species.

The Han Solo film - which charts the smuggler's early years - stars Alden Ehrenreich as Han, Woody Harrelson as his mentor, Donald Glover as Lando Calrissian, Joonas Suotamo as Chewbacca, Emilia Clarke in an unknown role, and Paul Bettany, whose part in the filming wrapped last week.

It is scheduled to be released in theaters on May 25, 2018.
