Hellboy: Daniel Dae Kim to Take the Place of Ed Skrien

Currently in talks to star as Major Ben Daimio.

Daniel Dae Kim, best known for his role as Jin on the drama series Lost, is in talks to join Lionsgate's upcoming Hellboy reboot.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kim will star as Major Ben Daimio, taking the place of Ed Skrien, who decided to leave the role due to controversy surrounding his casting. In the comics, Major Ben Daimio is an Asian-American military member of the Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense who turns into a jaguar when angry or in pain.

In addition to Lost, Kim starred in the CBS drama Hawaii Five-0. Earlier this year, the actor, left the show over a reported salary dispute with the network, in which he was seeking compensation equal to fellow stars, Scott Caan and Alex O'Laughlin. He's now producing—but not starring in—The Good Doctor, which premieres later this month.

Neil Marshall is directing the Hellboy reboot, which stars David Harbour as Hellboy, Milla Jovovich as the main villain, the Blood Queen, and Ian McShane as Hellboy's adoptive father, Professor Broom.

For more on the R-rated reboot, which, according to Harbour will be "more of a character piece," take a look at these 9 things we want to see in the new Hellboy movie.
