The Leviathan Raid in Destiny 2 features a unique checkpoint system that allows players to bypass challenges that they've already completed.
Instead of a "restart-where-you-last-saved" system, players will need to enter the system of maintenance tunnels and operations rooms in the underbelly of the Leviathan ship to reach the last area they explored. Below you will find a guide for entering the underbelly and finding your way to each location.
Note that as of the weekly refresh on Sept. 19, 2017, fireteams will only be able to skip ahead as far as their least progressed member. This means if five memebers of your party have already defeated Calus for the week, but one person hasn't run the raid, you'll be forced to run all three challanges again before facing the final boss.
There are two methods for players to enter the underbelly of the ship from the starting Embankment area.
From the starting platform of the Embankment, drop onto the ramps below the entryway to find a small room with a series of switches mounted on pillars.
You'll need be to quick to activate these switches on your own, so we recommend doing it with at least 2 players, as you only have a few seconds from pulling the first switch to flip the next in the series. There are allegedly several combinations that work here, but the one that has worked consistently for us is (the switches are numbered 1-6, from right to left when looking into the room):
1 5 3 2 4 6
Once you've completed the sequence, a notification will appear in the lower left-hand corner of your HUD, saying "The Way is Open."
Proceed up to the third level of the Embankment - the large, flat, open one, to find a pair of pipes leading into a tunnel. Complete the platforming section to cross the deadly chasm within to reach the lift that leads to the Engine Room.
The second option for entering the underbelly of the Leviathan is to activate the four pressure plates located around the upper level of the Embankment.
Players must step onto them in the following order (these are based off looking at the entrance from the bottom of the Embankment):
Bottom Left, Bottom Right, Top Left, Top Right
After the last player steps onto their pressure plate and remains there for a few seconds, "The Way is Open" message will appear and the large door next to the purple seal will open.
In order to bypass the Castellum combat challenge and proceed to one of the main trials (Royal Pools, Pleasure Gardens, Gauntlet or Throne Room), you must first unlock the challenge you wish to complete.
For example, if the first challenge of the week is the Pleasure Gardens, you cannot proceed to the Royal Pools or The Gauntlet via the maintenance tunnels until you have completed the preceding challenge(s).
This map from Reddit user Addesso showcases the different routes through the various sections of the Leviathan, as well as all of the known Raid Chest locations.
Use it as well as the location guides below to find your way to each challenge.
To reach The Royal Pools from the pipe entrance (on the lower-middle level of the Embankment), first make your way across the pipes and platforms. Next, take the lift up and pass through the Engine Room and exit through the door ahead of you on the right.
You'll find yourself at the base of a shaft at the end of the Ventilator hallway - climb up the shaft and make a U-turn through the opening to your right after entering the next room. At the other end of this room you'll see another shaft - climb up this one as well.
Head into the passage at the top of the shaft that appears to have dirt piled against the wall, then make a right through the doorway marked with the Pools symbol (Sun) at the other end.
Cross the rotating turbines in the Aqueduct and head through the door with the Sun sigil above it on your left.
From the pipe entrance, head through the hall in front of you when you disembark from the lift and head through the winding hall until you reach the Engine Room. Open the door using the switch panel, then cross the room to the door opposite you - do your best not to alert the Watchers in this room.
Drop down into the corridor with the burning exhaust ports and time your movements so that you can get through the hall. Be sure not to touch the flaming blue scorch marks on the opposite wall, as they can damage you, too. Exit that hall into the large room full of rocks and purple gems, then head into the door marked with a War Beast to your right.
Climb up the air shaft and follow the corridor around, ducking under some piping and skirting around a large stone edifice until you reach the door that leads into the Pleasure Gardens.
From the top of the lift after crossing the pipes, head up the ramp at the end of the long hall ahead of you and follow the halls around until you reach the Transfer Room door.
Open the door and either eliminate the Watchers (and Cabal soldiers, if you get spotted) or sneak past them. Head for the door in the rear-left corner from where you enter the room and head into the low trench you find through the doors with the twin axes above it.
Emerge from the tunnel and flip the switch to enter the Armory. Head up to the platform on your right and make your way into the red-lit pipe second to the right in the back room. Follow this pipe to the end and around a left-hand turn, then turn the next left corner and duck into the inclined pipe immediately on your right. When you emerge from the pipe, follow the path you exit into to make your way to the Gauntlet hallway.
