By writer Nick Spencer & artists Andrea Sorrentino & Rod Reis | Marvel
It's a fairly light week for new comics (as is usually the case with five-Wednesday months), but that only creates a bigger spotlight for Marvel's Secret Empire crossover. Issue #2 delivered one of the biggest twists yet in the ongoing saga of Hydra Cap, and we assume this issue will follow up on that twist even as it explores the struggle faced by Captain Marvel and her fellow marooned heroes. Expect things to keep getting darker for our heroes before the light finally appears at the end of the tunnel.
By writer/artist Dustin Weaver | Image
Like most fans of artist Dustin Weaver, we're waiting impatiently for Marvel to finally deliver the final two issues of Weaver and Jonathan Hickman's S.H.I.E.L.D. The good news is that Weaver is keeping plenty busy in the meantime. Paklis is a new anthology series that sees Weaver pulling double duty as writer and artist. Each of the three stories in this first issue sounds worthy of its own series, so we're plenty excited to see what Weaver is bringing to the table here.
By writer Joshua Williamson & artist Carmine Di Giandomenico | DC
Both Batman and Flash will be feeling the effects of their mission in "The Button" for some time to come. For Barry Allen, already suffering the breakdown of some of his key relationships in Central City, that ordeal now compels him to launch a preemptive attack on Eobard Thawne in the 25th Century. This issue paves the way for the next major chapter of Joshua Williamson's run. And with artist Carmine Di Giandomenico back on board, this one is shaping up to be a real doozy.
By Various | Boom
Power Rangers fans are in for a treat this week, as BOOM! Studios is dropping a jam-packed new annual issue. This book contains no less than five new stories from creators like Kyle Higgins, Tom Taylor and Jamal Campbell. Among other things, fans will catch a glimpse of the series' future as Tommy makes a fateful decision and see a team-up of Black Rangers from alternate universes. If you've been following the main series so far, you won't want to pass up this issue.
