Pokemon Gold and Silver Soundtrack Getting Deluxe Vinyl

Pre-orders open tomorrow.

Johto Legends, a one-hour orchestral arrangement featuring the music of Pokemon Gold and Silver, is coming to vinyl.

The album, from Materia Collective and composer/arranger Braxton Burks, will be available as a 2xLP vinyl for $40 USD, courtesy of iam8bit. This deluxe set features album art by Ryan Brinkerhoff, as well a premium foil-stamped jacket and foil inner sleeves. A digital download is included as well.

Pre-orders for the Johto Legends vinyl open tomorrow, May 31 at 8am PT/11am ET on iam8bit.com. The set will release in the first quarter of 2018.

The music of Johto Legends—based on Junichi Masuda, Go Ichinose and Morikazu Aoki's original score—is performed by a number of talented musicians, whose performance credits include The Legend of Zelda: Symphony of the Goddesses and Pokemon Symphonic Evolutions.

Patti Rudisill is on violin, Andrew Stern is on cello, Laura Intravia is on flute and piccolo, Kristin Naigus is on oboe, English horn, bassoon and ethnic winds, Peter Anthony Smith is on clarinet, and John Robert Matz can be heard on trumpet.

The beloved second generation of Pokemon made its debut in Pokemon Go earlier this year with the addition of new creatures to collect from the Johto region.
