It's that time of year again: E3 2017 is just on the horizon. From June 10-15, we'll be covering the biggest games and hardware announcements of 2017 and beyond. While you can check out our continually-updated Games of E3 List, we're now going to start diving deeper.
Every day leading up to the show, we'll be highlight the stuff we want to see and play at E3 2017. Today's game: Borderlands 3.
The last time we saw anything from Borderlands 3 was back in March at the 2017 Game Developer Conference. Gearbox CEO Randy Pitchford showed off a tech demo for Borderlands 3 that focused on art, lighting, and character models.
Borderlands 2 and its incredible suite of DLC remain one of the best games of the 360/PS3 generation. On top of this was Telltale's Tales From the Borderlands, which introduced us to Rhys and Fiona, and told one of the best stories in the entire Borderlands universe.
While we got the Pre-Sequel back in 2014, we've been waiting years for a full-fledged sequel built from the ground-up on modern hardware.
As much as I'd love to see a giant Borderlands 3 blow out at E3, I'm not holding my breath. The tech demo back in March pointed to a game that is still very early in development. If I had to bet, I'd say that Borderlands 3 gets its big coming out part at E3 2018.
