The Americans: Final Two Seasons Announced


Closing out the story in 2018.

The Americans has been renewed for two final seasons, FX Productions has announced.

The series will receive a 13-episode fifth season next year, which will be followed by a concluding 10-episode sixth season in 2018. In addition, the network has closed new deals with series showrunners and executive producers Joe Weisberg and Joel Fields to create their next project.

"We have no doubt that this two-season order will allow Joe and Joel to tell this story to its perfect conclusion," FX Productions exec Eric Schrier said in a statement. "On behalf of our producing partners at Fox 21 Television Studios and Amblin TV, we look forward to a brilliant final act of the Jennings family saga."

There are still three more episodes left of The Americans: Season 4, with the finale set to air on Wednesday, June 8 at 10pm ET/PT. In the meantime, find out what Fields shared with IGN about the escalating secrets in FX's hit show.
