PlatinumGames' sci-fi shooter Vanquish will finally make its way to PC on May 25.
Following some prolonged teasing by publisher Sega, the Shinji Mikami cult classic will come exclusively to Steam, and those who bought Bayonetta's long-awaited PC port last month will automatically receive a 25% discount when they pre-order.
All pre-orders will receive the Digital Deluxe edition, which includes a digital art book, 5-track soundtrack sampler, exclusive wallpapers and Vanquish avatars for your Steam profile. The Digital Deluxe Edition will only exist as a pre-order bonus, and will revert to the standard edition upon release on the 25th.
Like Bayonetta, the Vanquish port will support 4K resolutions, include "extensive graphics options" and fully support keyboard and mouse play.
We awarded Vanquish an 8.5 review when it originally released for Xbox 360 and PS3 in 2010, calling it "a stylish, spectacular looking game with great gunplay and some stunning set pieces."
It sounds as though this won't be the last Sega classic getting the PC treatment, either:
“It was great to see the positive response from our community to the Bayonetta PC launch last month, and we are pleased that we are in a position to be able to announce Vanquish, another of our highly requested back catalogue titles,” said Sega Europe's John Clark. “There’s more to come from SEGA in this space, so stay tuned for further announcements.”
MadWorld, anyone?
