FOX Cancels Sleepy Hollow After Four Seasons

Sleepy Hollow won't be back for a fifth season, as FOX has canceled the supernatural drama series.

As reported by Deadline, Sleepy Hollow's fourth season had an incredibly modest viewership in its Friday night slot, which, when taking into account delayed viewing, had an average of 3.2 million viewers.

Sleepy Hollow's ratings have been on the decline ever since its early success in Season 1, so news of its cancelation isn't especially surprising.

"Bringing a show out on Friday night is tough," FOX chairman Gary Newman acknowledged earlier this year. Despite Sleepy Hollows struggles, he said the network loves the series, noting its "storytelling has always been incredibly inventive, and Ichabod is fantastic."

In addition to Sleepy Hollow, FOX announced the cancelation of Rosewood after two seasons. Check out IGN's 2017 Endangered TV Series list for a frequently updated overview of which shows may or may not be back for another season.
