It's that time of year again: E3 2017 is just on the horizon. From June 10-15, we'll be covering the biggest games and hardware announcements of 2017 and beyond. While you can check out our continually-updated Games of E3 List, we're now going to start diving deeper.
Every day leading up to the show, we'll be highlight the stuff we want to see and play at E3 2017. Today's game: The Last of Us Part II.
The first and only official showing was at last year’s PlayStation Experience when the game was announced.
The Last of Us is one of the best games of last generation, and of the best storytelling experiences in games in general. Naughty Dog has proven itself as one of the absolute best developers in the industry, and its track record speaks for itself as far as a promise of quality and polish.
Joel and Ellie have such a moving, expertly told story, and it’s exciting that The Last of Us Part 2 will revisit those characters (along with new performances from the great Troy Baker and Ashley Johnson) and expound upon the first game’s ambiguous ending. On top of that, writer and creative director Neil Druckmann is joined this time around by Halley Gross, a writer on last year’s HBO hit Westworld, which could mean even more twists and turns for the story.
Almost definitely. This is the crown jewel in Sony’s slate of upcoming exclusives, and even if Naughty Dog isn’t ready for a full gameplay reveal yet, we’ll at least see a teaser to keep the hype train going.
