Publisher Bethesda Softworks has said that the company is looking to release an update to address the game-breaking Prey issues on PC sometime this week.
After a number of players and IGN's Dan Stapleton have reported running into save-related issues and full game crashes late into playing Prey, Bethesda announced the company is "actively working" on an update to Arkane Studios' latest release. Now, Bethesda has offered a more specific time frame for that patch.
"The team is working diligently on a fix and the aim is to have an update out this week," a representative for Bethesda Softworks told IGN, explaining that more information regarding the update should be on the way tomorrow.
Stapleton, as well as many other players, have run into a problem in which, after several dozen hours of play, the game presents an error message saying saves are "incompatible with current game version." The game often crashes, according to player reports and Stapleton's experience, when trying to leave the area of the most recent save for a new one.
The issues have delayed IGN's current Prey review in progress from being updated in full, though you can currently read for Stapleton's current thoughts on the Prey. Stay tuned for an updated review of Prey and for more from Bethesda as it develops.
Bethesda has previously asked that "if you are encountering issues, please report them on our support group website."
