The role of DC superhero Shazam still hasn't been cast, but Black Adam star Dwayne Johnson has proposed one notable star: Armie Hammer.
Speaking with We Got This Covered (and spotted by Batman-News), Johnson hinted at the The Man From U.N.C.L.E star as one person he'd like to face off against in the Shazam film.
"I’m going to throw one name out here, and I want to see how the fans are going to react to this," Johnson said. "A guy who I met, and after I met him I was like ‘man that guy is such a cool guy.'
"He is a lot bigger than I thought he would be, and when I walked away, I remember telling our producer ... we both looked at each other and was like: ‘Possibly Shazam? And we're like yes, all right.' I’m not even going to tell you his name, I’m just going to say Lone Ranger."
Hammer, who starred in 2013's The Lone Ranger with Johnny Depp, is a notable suggestion because he's reportedly being considered to play Hal Jordan in Green Lantern. Going even further back, Hammer was actually cast as Batman in George Miller's canceled Justice League of America movie.
Now earlier this year, the Shazam film was split into two movies, with one focusing on Johnson's Black Adam. There's no word on a director for either project, though Lights Out filmmaker David F. Sandberg was reportedly in talks for the DC film back in February.
