Destiny 2: How to Get the Rat King Exotic Sidearm

This page contains information on how to unlock the Rat King exotic weapon in Destiny 2.

The Rat King is one of Destiny 2's exotic Sidearms, and is unlocked by completing the steps of the Rat King's Crew exotic quest.

• Weapon Trait: Rat Pack
  If nearby fireteam members also have Rat King equipped, it becomes more powerful. This effect stacks up to six times.
• Barrel: Smallbore
  Increased stability
  Increased range.
• Magazine: Tactical Mag:
  Increased stability
  Increased reload speed
  Increased magazine size
• Grip: Smooth Grip
  Increased stability
  Increased handling speed.
• Bonus Trait: Vermin
  A brief period of invisibility is granted when reloading immediately after a kill.

To unlock the Rat King, you must first acquire the quest item called Rat's King  Crew and complete a series of challenges.

After completing the Campaign, return to Titan and speak to Sloane - she'll give you a quest called Enemy of My Enemy. This three-part quest will reward you with the legendary item Rat's King Crew, which takes up one of your Kinetic Weapon slots.

Alternatively, the Rat King's Crew can also be obtained by completing a Patrol mission with a player on your Fireteam who already has Rat King in their inventory.

The Rat King's Crew item's description contains a series of rhymes and riddles, which require players to team up with other Guardians who also possess the Rat's King Crew quest item (you must also have all available quests on Titan completed). The apparent order of events that must be completed is as follows:

• Complete 3 Patrol missions
• Complete 2 Public Events
• Complete 2 matches in The Crucible.
• Complete the Nightfall Strike with at least 5:00 remaining.

The truly difficult item here will be completing the Nightfall strike and leaving 5 minutes on the clock, but fireteams who prepare for the challenge should be able to manage it.
