Monster Hunter World Gets Horizon: Zero Dawn Crossover

Hunting robots, hunting monsters, same difference.

Fresh from hunting the robotic adversaries of Earth's future, Horizon: Zero Dawn's protagonist Aloy is adding monsters of a different kind to her resume, with an upcoming PlayStation-exclusive crossover with Monster Hunter World.

Details about the crossover, which was announced today during Sony's Paris Games Week conference, are still thin, but it appears that specifically-designed monsters based on Horizon's machines—including an adorable little critter—will appear within the game. Additionally, players will have the opportunity to play as Aloy.

The reveal also provided a launch date for Monster Hunter World's first beta, promising access starting December 9 for PlayStation Plus users. Stay tuned to IGN for word on beta access for other platforms.

Monster Hunter World is due for full release on January 26, 2018. For more on the game, check out our Monster Hunter World impressions from TGS 2017.
