It's September, which means DC's annual "Batman Day" event is right around the corner. Today DC Entertainment revealed its plans for this year's event, which will be held on Saturday, September 17.

All retailers participating in this year's Batman Day will be offering free copies of Batman #1 (the current DC Rebirth series). Participating retailers will include Pottery Barn Kids, Books-A-Million, Barnes & Noble and Six Flags theme parks, as well as various comic shops, schools and libraries. You can click here for the full list of participating retailers.

DC is also offering a free "Batman Activity Kit" that includes puzzles, trivia and games. The kit can be downloaded from DC's website.

Leading up to Batman Day, DC will be holding a "Road to Batman Day" sale on various Batman-themed digital comics. The sale will last from September 13-19 and cover popular Batman stories like Hush and The Dark Knight Returns. Graphic novels included in the sale will be marked down to $5.99, while single issues will be discounted 75%. On Batman Day itself, DC will also be selling the digital versions of Batman Vol. 7: Endgame and Batman Adventures Vol. 1 for $3.99 each. These sale prices will be available on all platforms where DC books are sold (the DC app, Comixology, the Kindle Store, the Nook Store, iBooks, etc).
