Black Lightning TV Series Finds Its Jefferson Pierce

Say hello to The CW's Jefferson Pierce.

Greg Berlanti's potential Black Lightning TV series has found its leading man in Cress Williams.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Williams will star as Black Lighting/Jefferson Pierce in the upcoming DC drama, which received a pilot order from The CW. The actor is no stranger to the network, having previously starred as Lavon Hayes in The CW's romantic drama Hart of Dixie.

Black Lightning will center around DC Comics superhero Jefferson Pierce/Black Lightning (Williams), who can generate and control lightning. After having hung up his suit years prior, Pierce is pulled back into the life of a hero when his daughter begins fighting for justice.

In addition to Jefferson and his two daughters Jennifer and Anissa, the series will also include Pierce's ex-wife Lynn. Check out the descriptions of all four characters for details on the show's core cast.

Black Lightning will reportedly begin production in March and could potentially join The CW's slate of DC superhero shows as a full series for the 2017-2018 season.
