With every game, there are always a few things that may seem like a great idea at first but end up being a waste of time and effort. We're here to waste that time and effort for you so that you don't have to. These are our things not to do in Halo Wars 2.
Microtransactions aren't for everyone, but Creative Assembly has given you more than enough ways to get Blitz packs for a good long while. You get them from levelling up, from completing Daily and Weekly challenges, and even from completing campaign missions your first time through. Beat the campaign and let yourself level up about a dozen times or more before you consider buying anything. Packs are all random and might not be worth your money too early one since you don't start off with all the cards.
Halo Wars 2 is not about you becoming an almighty leader that can build massive bases, huge armies, and fight your enemies all at once. You need to pace yourself. In team-based game modes, don't be afraid to rely on your allies. For example, if two of your allies are fighting the enemy, you should stay back and build your forces (unless its a final push). Keep things balanced and support your allies or you'll lose.
Blitz is 50% tactics and 50% deck balancing. If you go into a match with a bad deck, you're going to leave with a bad deck and a loss. Don't overpower your deck with all the strongest units and don't under-power it with easiest ones to get out that die quickly on their own. You need to strike a balance to succeed.
Skulls have been a trademark of the Halo franchise since the second entry into the main series. While you don't find skulls in this game, they're still present and can be unlocked by completing certain objectives that are usually secret.
