55 Million of Us Still Play Minecraft Every Month

"Sending a big thank you to all our amazing players," says Mojang.

Minecraft has now sold over 122 million copies, with over 55 million of us still checking into the game every single month.

The figures - which came courtesy of a tweet from the official Minecraft twitter account earlier today - are up from the 106 million copies of Minecraft sold as of last year, placing it among the best-selling games of all time.

According to Mojang's own stats, that means if every player lined up in a row, the conga line would encircle the globe... which is pretty astonishing, let's face it.

During Nintendo big Switch reveal event in January, a new version of Minecraft was shown for Switch.

Microsoft bought Minecraft developer Mojang for $2.5 billion in 2014, but, as the game's continued roll-out on pretty much every platforms available testifies, that didn’t stop the franchise from appearing on multiple platforms.

Minecraft received a major update on Windows 10 and mobile late last year.
