Telltale's Batman References Howard Stern Show

Hit 'em with the Hein!

Telltale Games has made what is likely the first-ever reference to the Howard Stern radio show in a video game, dropping a "Hit 'em with the Hein!" near the end of the second episode of Batman: The Enemy Within.

As Harley Quinn is firing up her crew before the climactic heist of the episode, titled 'The Pact', she yells, "Hit 'em with the Hein!" – a reference to Stern staffer Jon Hein, who hosts The Wrap-Up Show. Take a look at clip above to see it for yourself.

The same Stern Show reference also appeared on the cover of Suicide Squad #4 in the DC Universe Rebirth. Take a look at Harley Quinn's shirt above. We reached out to Telltale for comment, and they confirmed the reference to both the Howard Stern show and the comic was intentional.

The Howard Stern Show, which airs on SiriusXM satellite radio, has been running for nearly 40 years, and on SiriusXM since 2006. Sportscasters, golf galleries, and Stern superfans have found clever ways to yell "Baba booey!" – a reference to Stern Show producer Gary Dell'Abate – on live television for years. Recently, however, the "Hit 'em with the Hein!" catchphrase has been the more popular one to find its way into various broadcasts, which, thanks to Telltale, now includes video games.

Stay tuned tomorrow for our full review of The Enemy Within episode 2, and in the meantime take a look at our review of the first episode, titled 'The Enigma', below.
