Disney Restores 2005 Star Wars: Battlefront 2 Multiplayer on PC

Battlefront 2 Throwback Edition

Star Wars: Battlefront II multiplayer is live once again. The 2005 PC game Star Wars: Battlefront II, not the upcoming Battlefront II for PS4, Xbox One and PC, that is.

Disney made the announcement on the official 2005 Star Wars: Battlefront II Steam page, and the update is part of a crossover with GOG.

"The multiplayer function of the game has now been restored," GOG said in its announcement, and the update allows players on both Steam and GOG can play classic Battlefront II together.

The multiplayer is only for the PC version, so those of you dusting off your original Xboxes are out of luck.

Classic Battlefront II multiplayer functionality was lost when the GameSpy multiplayer service shutdown. This is the first time players have been able to enjoy multiplayer in an official capacity since then.

The new Star Wars Battlefront II multiplayer maps and modes were recently outlined by EA, including three maps set in the prequel era, five from the original trilogy, and three Force Awakens era maps.

Until the modern Battlefront II is released, you can relive the old glory days on the battlefield with Battlefront II on PC.
