Wonder Woman Now a Bigger Hit Than BvS, Suicide Squad

After less than a month in release.

As it heads into its fifth weekend in release, Wonder Woman has surpassed Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad, and Man of Steel to become the highest-grossing movie of the DC Extended Universe at the North American box office.

As of Thursday, the Patty Jenkins-directed film has earned $330.5 million, edging past BvS's total domestic haul of $330.4 million. Furthermore, Wonder Woman has earned that after just 28 days in release whereas it took BvS 84 days to make that much.

While both BvS and Suicide Squad enjoyed bigger domestic openings than Wonder Woman, Wonder Woman ultimately managed to avoid the massive attendance drops each successive weekend that befell those two DCEU films.

Suicide Squad's total domestic box office run earned $325.1 million, followed by Man of Steel with $291 million. (Neither of those figures are adjusted for inflation.)

Worldwide, BvS and Suicide Squad remain the DCEU's top-grossers. Industry analysts are projecting Wonder Woman to ultimately finish its international box office run with a worldwide total of at least $750 million. That would be enough to push it past Suicide Squad ($745.6 million), but not enough to overtake BvS ($873.3 million).

Wonder Woman's current worldwide total is $663.6 million, enough to make it the highest-grossing movie directed by a woman.
