Sense8 Getting a Netflix Wrap-Up Special

"Now let's go find out what happens to Wolfgang."

While Sense8 won't continue for another season, a two-hour finale for the Netflix Original series will release sometime next year.

Series co-creator Lana Wachowski shared the news in a letter posted on the show's official Facebook page. In it, Wachowski shared how difficult it was for her when Netflix decided to cancel Sense8 after its second season. "I had never worked so hard, or put so much of myself into a project as I had with Sense8 and its cancellation hollowed me out," she said.

Wachowski went on to discuss how hard the show's cancellation has been on the cast, crew and fans of Sense8. She also credited the community's passion as being instrumental in reviving Sense8 for a wrap-up special.

"It is my great pleasure as well as Netflix's (believe me, they love the show as much as we do but the numbers have always been challenging) to announce that there will be another two hour special released next year," she said, concluding the letter with: "Now let's go find out what happens to Wolfgang."

Netflix announced the cancellation of Sense8 earlier this month, shortly after the second season's debut in May. Read IGN's Sense8: Season 2 review for our thoughts on the short-lived drama series.
