GTA Online: Everything You Need to Know About Gunrunning

This page contains information on the Gunrunning update (1.40) for GTA Online in Grand Theft Auto 5, .

The Gunrunning update brings new activities, weapons, vehicles, and bunkers to GTA Online. Below you'll find detailed information on the new activities and opportunities available as a weapons dealer in San Andreas.

The Gunrunning update is all about the illegal arms trade. It focuses on smuggling high-value weapons around San Andreas, as well as amassing and customizing a wide array of weaponized vehicles.

Players who have already become a CEO, Biker Club President, or VIP can purchase underground bunkers in the Grand Senora Desert to use as a base of operations and build a small arms manufacturing outfit.

To access the Gunrunning Business activities, players need to go to the laptop located in their bunkers and access the Disruption Logistics website. Through this, players can resupply and sell weapons they've made/obtained through their business ventures. The DL terminal also allows players to manage their bunker staff, upgrade/customise the bunker, and have Research done.

Gunrunning Business missions are broken up into the following three categories:

  • Set-Up: These missions will help you get supplies staff you'll need for manufacturing. These missions are free.
  • Resupply: These missions will be your primary way of getting supplies after the set-up. You can choose to either buy supplies or go on missions (for free) to get what you need.
  • Sell: These missions are how you offload your products and make a lot of money, but they can get very dangerous. These missions will vary in difficulty based on how many players are with you as well as what weapons/vehicles and how many you're selling.

Mobile Operations can be initiated through a Mobile Operations Center (see below). MOs each require a given number of Resupply Mission completions before the MOC owner can start them.

Completing an operation, amongst other things, will give the player a significant discount on the featured weaponised vehicle from said operation. All MOs are open to 2-4 players, give about 3,000 RP, and require that the vehicle you take stays functional/isn't destroyed:

  • Payout: ~$14,000

Venture out into the desert and hop into a Weaponized Dune FAV with a friend to take on Merryweather. Shoot down their air supply lines so that your allies can recover the goods they drop later on.

  • Payout: ~$14,000

Sneak up to an enemy agent base and find their Half-track. Hack into it and steal it so that you can turn it over to your allied agents.

  • Payout: ~$15,000

Head over to the LSIA nd protect the private planes and helicopters that are taking off from it. Use the Turreted Trailer to take down the enemies that come to attack.

  • Payout: ~$16,000

A freighter went down and the salvage on it is extremely valuable to your and your allies. Take an aquatic ATV and recover the salvage from the sea floor, but expect other interest parties to also try to get their hands on the goods. Don't let them.

  • Payout: ~$14,000

An ally has made a Mobile Operations Center. Get it to safety while avoiding missiles fired at you by the enemy.

  • Payout: ~$16,500

An allied agent has gone rogue and is on the run. Take a Weaponized Tampa and take out signal jammers so that you can find and neutralize him.

  • Payout: ~$14,000

Enemy agents are using Oppressor motorcycles are conduits for stolen data. Steal the bikes and deliver them to your allies.

  • Payout: ~$14,000

Get on Oppressor bikes and hunt down a rogue MOC. Take out any ground support the target has and return the company equipment.

The Gunrunning update introduces two new locations that can be purchased by aspiring arms dealers: a bunker and a Mobile Operations Center.

The bunker is a large underground base, complete with living quarters and storage - your MOC can also be kept here - also contains workshops for you to upgrade and customize your weapons and vehicles. This is where your Research will be done for new weapons and vehicles.

You can purchase a bunker from the Maze Bank's foreclosure online notice. Bunkers all range in the millions for prices. The cheapest bunker, the Paleto Forest Bunker, costs $1,165,000, while the most expensive bunker, the Farmhouse Bunker, costs $2,375,000.

Players can upgrade their bunkers to have personal quarters, a shooting range, a gun locker, and types of transportation.

The Mobile Ops Center is a customizable oversized truck which not only allows players to begin new jobs on the go but also can be outfitted with a living area and weapons/vehicle workshops.

You can purchase a MOC from the Warstock website for $1,225,000. You must first have a bunker to purchase a MOC. Players can customise their MOC's three trailer bays to each be one of the following:

  • Weapon Workshop: Gives players access to 6 new Mk II weapon variants and 80+ Mk II weapon mods.
  • Weapon & Vehicle Workshop (uses two bays): Customise both your weapons and vehicles to make weaponised vehicles.
  • Personal Vehicle Storage: Stores one personal vehicle.
  • Living Quarters: Allows players to relax, change their clothes, and access the MOC app to launch Mobile Operations.
  • Command Center: Allows players to access a wardrobe, the MOC remote turret, and the MOC app.

We recommend players go for the Weapon & Vehicle workshop and the Command Center to get just about everything an MOC has to offer.

Mobile Operations are locked until the MOC owner has completed enough resupply missions for the designated MO.

There are 6 new weaponized vehicles, each sporting unique weapons and/or armour: the APC, the Dune FAV, the Half-track, the Oppressor, the Tampa, and the Anti-Air Trailer. They can be purchased on Warstock, with discounted rates after completing certain Mobile Operations.
