Cap just keeps sinking lower.

Just when we thought Captain America couldn't stoop any lower in Secret Empire, he proves us wrong.

This issue was full of new revelations, including the long-awaited explanation for why Thor Odinson has thrown his lot in with Captain America and Hydra rather than the Avengers. Unlike Scarlet Witch and Vision, Thor isn't being brainwashed. Instead, he's simply motivated by loyalty to Steve Rogers, a man who very recently proved himself worthy of wielding Mjolnir where Thor himself is not. That's not to say the Odinson isn't having doubts about his current gig.

The biggest developments in this issue, however, involved the return of two major Marvel characters who died in the lead-up to Secret Empire. First, the "good Steve Rogers," currently trapped in the mysterious realm known as the Vanishing Point, came face-to-face with his greatest nemesis (doing his best impersonation of Negan from The Walking Dead).

Then the "evil" Steve Rogers revealed his most powerful weapon, one that he's convinced will end the threat of Hawkeye's Avengers once and for all.

It remains to be seen whether Bruce Banner is back for good, however. Steve revealed that while Hydra's scientists were able to resurrect Banner (who was shot dead by Hawkeye during the events of Civil War II), the process was flawed and Banner's body will quickly begin to break down again. But it's fair to say that a zombie Hulk is no less dangerous than a regular Hulk.
