Surprise! Overwatch Season 2 has begun, at least on PC and Xbox One.
Game Director Jeff Kaplan confirmed on the Battle.net forums that the second season of Overwatch's competitive mode has begun on PC, several days before its predicted launch date of September 6. Overwatch's Twitter quickly confirmed the season has also begun on Xbox One.
Patch 1.3 has also gone live, which makes notable changes to Competitive mode's structure, including the addition of skill tiers and the removal of Sudden Death. It also adds a brand new competitive map, Eichenwalde.
Overwatch's second season does not appear to be live yet on PS4, and PSN, as of the time of writing, is experiencing issues. Kaplan has promised it's coming to the console "ASAP".
