This May Be the World's First Tactical Stealth Goose Game

What's good for the goose is good for the gander.

If you've been to a park with a lake, you've no doubt seen a goose. Geese are essentially the drunk versions of swans, and will often turn aggressive, chasing humans and other geese for seemingly no reason.

House House, the studio behind the bizarre wrestling and friendship game Push Me Pull You has taken the goose, in all its goosely splendor, and made it the protagonist of an as-of-yet untitled game. Instead of passively swimming in circles, waiting for bread like some kind of second-class duck, House House's goose game has you actively seeking out mischief.

In the video released today for the upcoming game, we see a goose leaving its pond and immediately grabbing an unattended sandwich. It's typical goose-fare: swimming, eating, and waddling about. But there's also a to-do list, which includes tasks like setting up a full picnic, complete with a sandwich, apple, basket, Thermos, and more. The goose is also tasked with things like getting the groundskeeper to wear a sun hat. Goose are nothing if not concerned with the prevention of damage caused by the sun's UV rays.

But there's more to it than just picnics or sun protection. The goose can cause distractions, tricking the groundskeeper into doing things like opening the garden gate so the goose can slip inside. The goose can also hide from the groundskeeper, steal his keys, and generally be a jerk. It's almost like Metal Gear Solid if it were adorable and Snake was trying to plan a picnic for the Diamond Dogs.

At the end of the video, two geese are aggressively honking and causing a ruckus, so hopefully that means there's cooperative goose play planned. We'll know more as the game gets closer to its 2018 release date.
