Michael B. Jordan to Appear in Netflix Superhero Series

Netflix has ordered a 10-episode season.

Black Panther and Fantastic Four's Michael B. Jordan is set to executive produce and appear in a new superhero series on Netflix called Raising Dion.

Netflix has ordered a 10-episode season of the one-hour sci-fi/family drama, which follows an African-American single mother, Nicole Reese, trying to raise her superhero son Dion after the death of her husband, Mark (Jordan). When Dion begins to manifest superhero-like abilities, Nicole must protect her son from dark forces trying to exploit him and keep Dion's powers a secret.

Raising Dion was created by music video director Dennis Liu, and was released as a comic book and short film. Carol Barbee (UnREAL) will serve as showrunner and executive producer, and has also written the script for the first episode, which Liu will direct.

"More than ever, we need more stories told from different points of view and my hope with Raising Dion is to create a cinematic experience for all families that will lift your spirits and make you laugh and cry," said Liu in a statement.

MACRO's Charles D. King, Kim Roth and Poppy Hanks, as well as Kenny Goodman and Michael Green (American Gods) are also all on board as executive producers.

You can watch Michael B. Jordan portray the villain in Killmonger when Black Panther opens in theaters on February 9, 2018.

In related news, Netflix has just raised its subscription price for the second time in two years.
