The first two episodes of Marvel's The Inhumans will make its IMAX-exclusive debut in early September, IMAX Entertainment CEO Greg Foster announced.
During the Credit Suisse Technology, Media & Telecom Conference (via The Hollywood Reporter) Forester confirmed the first 80 minutes of ABC's upcoming live-action series will screen in IMAX theaters across the globe on or around September 1 of next year, which will then be followed by a two-week run in theaters.
Shortly thereafter, on September 26, the series will premiere on ABC, with each new installment in the eight-episode series airing on Tuesday nights from that point on.
In addition, Forester announced that IMAX has already renewed its pitch for another television deal after Marvel's The Inhumans. "This is at the high end of the range of what we'll be doing, but we're already looking for a second [series]," he said.
The IMAX exec said he sees a lot of potential for future TV deals, calling their partnership with ABC and Marvel for The Inhumans a "really exciting opportunity that could blossom into more." Forester also expressed his hope that this partnership will result in more seasons for the series, and said the company is also "looking at other opportunities and programs" to get involved in.
Marvel's The Inhumans will reportedly feature scenes on the moon, with specific action sequences being shot with IMAX cameras, even after the two-episode premiere.
