Lin-Manuel Miranda Working on The Kingkiller Chronicles

"Pat Rothfuss' Kingkiller books are among the most read and re-read in our home."

Hamilton creator Lin-Manuel Miranda will head musical development and serve as creative producer on The Kingkiller Chronicles.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Miranda will write and compose songs for the film and TV adaptions of the fantasy series by author Pat Rothfuss. Transformers 5 writer Lindsey Beer is tackling the first film's script, based off The Name of the Wind.

Miranda, who worked on Disney's Moana, says he's a big fan of the books.

"Pat Rothfuss' Kingkiller books are among the most read and re-read in our home," he said. "It's a world you want to spend lifetimes in, as his many fans will attest." Miranda said Rothfuss' writing about making music is done "more beautifully than any novelist I've ever read."

Lionsgate is developing The Kingkiller Chronicles with a multi-format approach, creating movies, a TV series and video games.

Evan Campbell is a freelance writer who scripts the Daily Fix, streams games on his Twitch channel, and chats about movies and TV series on Twitter.
