Nintendo Outlines Plans for Universal Theme Parks

Nintendo-themed areas coming to Osaka, Orlando and Hollywood.

Following last year's announcement of Nintendo's partnership with Universal Theme Parks & Resorts, Nintendo has outlined its plans to bring themed areas to three of Universal's parks.

"Expansive, immersive and interactive" areas based on Nintendo's iconic franchises are coming to Universal Studios Japan, Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood.

According to the company's announcement, each park's Nintendo-themed area will have "authentic environments," populated by various attractions, restaurants and shops.

Nintendo aims to offer something for all ages, with theme park attractions that will make "guests feel as if they are playing inside their favorite games." Work on these areas "is well underway," with Nintendo and Universal planning to open each park "separately over the next several years."

Details on each park's Nintendo-themed area will be revealed in the future, with the first of these announcements planned to be shared "soon."
