During a Nintendo Direct presentation, the company announced a trio of amiibo figures to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the Legend of Zelda series.
Nintendo will release 8-bit Link, a figure similar in style to the retro 30th anniversary Classic Mario amiibo figure released along with Super Mario Maker last year, Ocarina of Time Link, and a special two-pack featuring Toon Link and Zelda from the Wind Waker. The figures will be available at retailers on December 2.
The new amiibo will function the same as Link and Zelda amiibo, respectively, but they will also have special functionality with The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, when it releases in 2017.
Nintendo also revealed that Skyward Sword is now available on the Wii U Virtual Console.
Recently, Nintendo announced another special collaboration with Dark Horse comics to release a series of three books dedicated to the company’s 30-year old Zelda series. The first book, The Legend of Zelda: Art and Artifacts, is available now for pre-order.
