PlayStation announced a smaller PlayStation 4 model at its September press briefing today, which will take the place of the currently available PS4 as the standard system model.
The new "slimmer, lighter, more energy efficient" PS4 model will be available in most territories beginning September 15 for $299. Sony Interactive Entertainment President and CEO Andrew House announced the new console model on stage during the show.
The new PS4 model was previously leaked and showcased ahead of today's showcase.
The PlayStation 4 Neo was also officially unveiled during the briefing, now named the PS4 Pro.
