No Mario's Sky Has Relaunched Due to Copyright Claim

It's fun to stay at the DMCA.

It hasn't taken Nintendo's lawyers long to clamp down on No Mario's Sky, the indie game which brings together No Man's Sky and Mario.

No Mario's Sky was designed in just 72 hours by a team of four. It placed you on a randomly-chosen World 1-1, and then let you take off in a spaceship to find other worlds.

Developer ASMB Games said "No Mario's Sky is no more-io! Due to a copyright claim by Nintendo we've had to take the game down"

"Thanks everyone for playing and enjoying our little fan game. We would love to see an official Nintendo game in this style - a Mario Galaxy-style game in 2D within a procedurally-generated universe."

However, a replacement was not far behind. ASMB has now released the cheekily named DMCA's Sky, which has "Spaceman Finn search for Princess Mango in an infinite universe."

"Featuring crazy Moombas, An Infinite Universe, Muscle, Amazing Physics and a Radical Space Ship; DMCA's Sky is the hackneyed remake-gone-mashup you've been craving," says the game's description.

It's free, and available for download right now.
