ABC is reportedly working on a new Magnum P.I. series that would focus on his daughter.
According to Deadline, Lily "Tommy" Magnum will head back to Hawaii and follow in her father's footsteps at his firm in the show, called Magnum. She will hit the beach and take on international crime while also trying to solve a mystery revolving around her former Navy Intelligence career.
Tom Selleck starred in the original 1980s series, Magnum P.I.
Eva Longoria's UnbeliEVAble Entertainment and Leverage creator John Rogers (who's also penning the script) are behind Magnum. ABC reportedly has a script commitment plus substantial penalty for the action show, with Universal Television as the studio.
The original Magnum P.I. ran for eight seasons in the 1980s and starred Tom Selleck.
Magnum would be the latest in a long line of revivals for the small screen, like The Exorcist, Lethal Weapon and more. In fact, IGN kept track of 39 TV reboots earlier this year.
