U.S.Avengers #1 - $3.99

By writer Al Ewing & artist Paco Medina | Marvel

New Avengers may be over, but Al Ewing's Avenegrs saga isn't. It's merely taking a new and and sillier form. U.S.Avengers sees Sunspot debut the latest incarnation of AIM - American Idea Mechanics. Using his vast wealth and some of the rgeatest scientific minds the world has to offer, Roberto has created the most hardcore team of superhero patriots ever assembled. Familair faces like Squirrel Girl and Cannonball will stand alongside the new Iron Patriot and Red Hulk to defend the US from villains the the Golden Skull.

Basically, this book is shaping up to be Marvel's answer to G.I. Joe. And based on Ewing's past work and the clearly tongue-in-cheek cover, it's a safe bet that U.S.Avenegrs won't be taking itself too seriously.

Batman #14 - $2.99
STL029660

By writer Tom King & artist Mitch Gerads | DC

Writer Tom King just wrapped up his second major story arc on Batman. Before he reunites with David Finch and launches into "I Am Bane," King has a quiet interlude planned for readers. This issue kicks off a two-part arc focused on Batman and Catwoman, as the Dark Knight struggles to decide what to do with his sometimes enemy/sometime sover as she faces the death penalty. The itnerplay between bruce and Selina has been the foundation of some of this book's strongest material, so the prospect of an entire arc focused on the duo definitely has us excited. We're also happy to see King teaming up with Sheriff of Babylon collaborator Mutch Gerads for this one.

Box Office Poison Color Comics #1 - $3.99
STL031185

By writer/artist Alex Robinson | IDW

Alex Robinson is pretty much king of the hill when it comes to slice-of-life comic book dramas, and Box Office Poison is a major reason why. This new mini-series is the perfect gateway for those who have never read the original graphic novel or those who want to experience an old favorite with a new coat of paint. BOP Color Comics features the original story in color for the first time. That might seem like sacrilege to some, but we're confident that IDW will help a classic tale become that much better.

Justice League of America: The Atom Rebirth #1 - $2.99
STL030381

By writer Steve Orlando & artist Andy MacDonald | DC

There's a new Justice League of America series on the way, but first DC has to reintroduce some of its key members. Taht process begins this week as Ryan Choi takes the spotlight. When last we saw Ryan in DC Universe Rebirth #1 last year, he was an overworked TA who just discovered that his mentor, Ray Palmer, had gone missing. Now it falls on Ryan to take up the mantle of the Atom and make Ray proud. We're looking forward to having this character back in play, and all the more because writer Steve Orlando is at the helm.
