Gears of War 4 Gets Versus Social Cross-Play

Core and competitive, however, will remain closed to their platforms.

Microsoft and The Coalition are now allowing Xbox One and PC players to fight against one another in Gears of War 4.

The game's social quickplay is now a cross-play playlist, according to the Xbox Wire. That means Xbox One and PC players can duke it out in Gears of War 4's versus multiplayer.

The move is planned to be permanent, after these first few months serve as a trial. The Coalition actually tested out Gears of War 4 multiplayer cross-play back in December for a weekend.

As for core and competitive modes, they will stay platform specific. Now speaking of multiplayer, earlier this month, Gears of War 4 got two classic maps: Blood Drive and Clocktower.

Gears of War 4 is one of IGN's best reviewed games of 2016.
