Dominic West has joined the cast of Warner Bros. and MGM's upcoming Tomb Raider reboot.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, West will play Lord Richard Croft, the father of Alicia Vikander's Lara Croft. Interestingly enough, this won't be the first time West has appeared on-screen as the father to one of Vikander's characters, having played her dad, Mr. Brittain, in Testament of Youth.
Dominic West as Walt Camby in Money Monster
In addition to starring in the films Money Monster and Genius, West currently appears in the Showtime television series The Affair, and previously starred in HBO's The Wire.
Roar Uthaug is directing Tomb Raider, which is based on the long-running action-adventure video game series of the same name. Alongside Vikander and West, the movie will star Badlands actor Daniel Wu as a ship captain named Lu Ren who helps Lara in her quest to find her father (West). Additionally, it was announced last month that The Hateful Eight's Walton Goggins will star as the movie's villain.
Tomb Raider opens in theaters on March 16, 2018.
