Logitech's New Wireless Headset Boasts Big Battery Life

Up to 15 meters range.

Logitech announced its new G533 wireless PC gaming headset. The headset features 7.1 surround-sound and up to 15 hours of battery life with its rechargeable, replaceable batteries.

Logitech's gaming vice president and general manager Ujesh Desai said the company's goal was to give players "the most immersive and accurate PC gameplay experience."

The set's Pro-G audio drivers "are made with hybrid mesh materials," something Logitech promises delivers audio quality rivaling that of "high-end audiophile headphones."

The headset also uses DTS Headphone:X technology for its 7.1-channel surround sound to accurately replicate "7.1 speaker placement and audio positioning."

The G533 features a retractable microphone with a pop-filter and an auto-mute feature to "provide the clearest of audio for competitive gaming chat."

Fine-tuning of audio features and levels is possible through Logitech Gaming Software. "You can amplify game sounds to achieve the most accurate positioning," Desai said. Volume levels for each of the seven channels can be adjusted.

Logitech expects its new headset to go on sale worldwide beginning this month with an MSRP of $150 USD.
