Nintendo Switch: Digital Game Sizes Revealed

Memory lane.

Nintendo of Japan has revealed digital download sizes for a number of Nintendo Switch games, including one that is too large to be stored on the console's 32GB internal memory.

Listed in individual software entries on the Nintendo website, the games and their download sizes are as follows:

Given the space taken up by the Switch OS, Dragon Quest Heroes is too big a download to fit onto the console's internal storage, a fact confirmed by the site itself, which states that a separate SD card will be required to install it.

It's worth remembering that, unlike PS4 and Xbox One, physical games bought for Nintendo Switch do not require an install, so this issue only applies to digital copies.

Several upcoming Nintendo games, including launch day title 1, 2 Switch, do not yet have public download sizes. While the size of Zeda: Breath of the Wild corresponds with what we've already been told, it may be that Japanese versions of these games differ slightly in size from those released in the west.

With its March 3 launch day rapidly approaching, more and more details of the Switch and its games are appearing - not least because of reportedly stolen consoles surfacing.
