For Honor Classes Guide


In For Honor, there are four classes of Heroes for each Faction. These classes specialize in different aspects of battle, despite not being limited to just one role. Before diving into battle online, its important to know which classes are better suited for which scenarioes. In the right hands, any class can be adaptable for any need on the battlefield.

Vanguard Heroes are adaptable units on the battlefield. When you first start playing For Honor, these are the best heroes to use to understand and grasp the basics of the game. The are considered all-around good units, despite not specializing in one paticular area or skill.

As a jack-of-all trades on the battlefield, Wardens are effective at just about everything that is needed while in battle. They can traverse the battlefield well and fight well with their two-handed swords. Their special abilities include an unblockable shoulder tackle, as well as a variety of strong interruption abilities and throws.

The Warden is the Vanguard class hero of the Knights faction. It’s classified as an easy to learn hero with an adaptable and straightforward playstyle that strikes a balance between Attack and Defense.

Raiders use two-handed axes that can be swung around to chop down foes. Despite being slow, they are exceptionally strong against most enemies and do well against groups.

The Raider is the Vanguard class hero of the Vikings faction. It’s classified as an easy to learn character that’s adaptable and straightforward that controls battle by disabling foes and striking hard.

The Kensei are slow, but powerful units that have a long range melee attack despite their slower attack speed. The Kensei is the Vanguard class hero of the Samurai faction.

Kensei are classified as an easy to learn character that’s both balanced and simple, utilizing a long range attack but slow movement.

Assassins are weaker units against attacks from groups of enemies, but are phenomenal in their ability to duel against a single unit. These heroes are masters of stealth and mobility, utilizing an array of swift and lethal strikes. They are quicker than most heroes and have a very high damage output when faced against a single enemy.

The Peacekeeper is the Knights faction’s Assassin. Peacekeepers prioritize stealth when fighting against enemies. Classified as a character with medium difficulty to learn.

The Peacekeeper’s swift and lethal attack style is supported by its incredible mobility, but at the cost of a very short range.

Berserkers are dual-wielding axe fighters that are savage in their love for combat. They are specialist in close-combat. Not only do they have fast attacks in their arsenal, but also a variety of ways to initiate infinite chain attacks against enemeis.

The Berserker is the Viking faction's Assassin. It's classified as a Hard to learn character. Though difficult to master, they are highly effective in battle.

The Orochi is the Samurai faction’s Assassin. It’s classified as a Hard character to learn that’s very agile with a good balance of harassment and Counter Attack abilities. Their movement is hard to match by most and is effective when used right.

These assassins are skilled at both counter-attacks and taking the offensive against enemies. Its important for them to have a strong defense and mobility for perfect timing on counters and evasion.

The Heavy Class heroes have very high defense and a large amount of health. They move slow on the battlefield and in combat, but pack an incredible hard punch with their attacks. Heavies are great at defending a control point or another nearby ally. It takes patience to use a Heavy in combat, but results for taking your time are great.

The Conqueror is the Knights’s Heavy character. It’s classified as a Medium difficulty hero with Strong Defense, hard hitting attacks, and a good mix of counter attacks and harassment.

They are considered elite soldiers within their ranks and can hit enemies very hard with their ball & chain weapons. With their shield, not only is it a good means of defense, but can also be used to ram enemies into a wall, or rather off a cliff.

The Warlord is the Vikings faction’s Heavy character. It’s classified as a Medium difficulty hero that’s slow and strong, excelling in counter attacks, harassment, and sustaining damage.

Warlords are great close-range fighters with a variety of counter-attacks. They have great physical attacks that can push enemies far back with their titanic strength.

The Shugoki is one of the most power Heroes in For Honor. They are the equivilant of a living tank, very slow but pack a punch. Their attacks will do a lot of damage if they connect, but take time to wind up and engage. It can be difficult mastering the playstyle of a Shugoki because of the required patience needed to capitalize on its capabilities.

When played right, the Shugoki can be a devestatingly powerful Hero that can turn the tide of any battle. The strikes form its club are strong and have armored attacks that won't be stunned by most attacks.

Hybrid heroes blend elements of different classes together. They borrow characteristics of multiple units and create a different hero altogether. Each faction has a hybrid hero that focuses on something different on the battlefield that the others don't.

The Lawbringer is the Knights faction Hybrid class hero. Lawbringers have elements from both a heavy and vanguard hero. They are superb at counter-attacking and strong at being offensive at the same time.

The attacks from a Lawbringer can stun enemies frequently and keep them off balance. The unblockable physical attack will knock enemies back and stun them for follow-up attacks. Lawbringers also have a running attack that pushes foes back very far, which can lead to pushing enemies into hazards or significantly knocking them back.

The Valkyrie is the Vikings faction Hybrid class hero. As very adaptable warriors, Valkyries are capable of being versitile on the battlefield. They have attacks and abilities to keep enemies off balance.

Charging heavy attacks while guarding is how the Valkyrie shines the most. You can charge up the strength of your strikes while having a well-rounded guard against most attacks.

The Nobushi is a Hybrid class hero in the Samurai faction with a Hard difficulty classification. Nobushis are zoner characters with incredible range that keep distance while constantly harassing targets, along with poking attacks and bleed damage that affects targets over time.

The Nobushi is a longe range melee fighter and tries to keep enemies far away with a long staff. Not only does it keep them safe from attacks, but allows them to control the flow of combat.
