Screen Gems' upcoming Slender Man movie has found its director in Sylvain White.
White, whose previous directorial credits include the 2007 teen drama Stomp the Yard and the 2010 action comedy The Losers, will helm the project, with production set to begin by spring.

Screen Gems secured the rights to produce a film inspired by the horror meme last year, and will produce the movie in collaboration with Mythology Entertainment. 13 Sins writer David Birke is penning the script.
Slender Man centers around a creepy figure with a featureless face who is tall, thin, and has abnormally long arms. The character is often tied to disappearance stories in which it stalks and terrorizes children and teenagers.
A video game called Slender: The Arrival was released in 2013, and a film documentary about the horrifying internet phenomenon debuted last year. For our thoughts on the movie, check out IGN's Beware the Slenderman review.
