Puyo Puyo Tetris Announced for Nintendo Switch

Franchise crossover finally makes its Western debut.

During the Switch reveal event tonight, SEGA announced that Puyo Puyo Tetris will finally come West on Nintendo Switch this Spring.

The Nintendo Switch version will be available digitally for $29.99 and physically for $39.99, with a special launch edition that includes two Puyo Puyo- and Tetris-themed keychains while supplies last. The game will also be available on PS4 for $29.99.

Puyo Puyo Tetris is, as the name would imply, a crossover of famous SEGA puzzle series Puyo Puyo along with ‘80s puzzle classic Tetris. The game incorporates elements of both series through multiple different gameplay modes.

Puyo Puyo Tetris was featured in a 2013 Nintendo Direct and came out in Japan in 2014. This marks its first time heading to the US or Europe. For an in-depth look at the game, check out IGN’s commentary over the Wii U version.
