Nintendo Switch Will Support Up to 2TB Micro SDXC Cards

Providing plenty of storage space for all your Switch games.

Nintendo has confirmed that its upcoming console, Nintendo Switch, will support Micro SDXC cards, enabling users to expand the system's storage space to 2TB.

"Nintendo Switch is compatible with the SDXC standard, which supports up to 2TB," a representative from Nintendo told Game Informer. While 2TB capacity cards are not yet available for purchase, Nintendo said the console will support them once they hit the market.

The largest capacity SDXC currently available for purchase are 512GB in size and cost around $200.

Nintendo Switch will ship with 32GB of internal memory. Considering the fact that some of that will be taken up by the Switch's operating system, and The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild is a 13.4GB download, many consumers will likely want to expand the console's storage with a Micro SDXC card.
