Cult of Chucky, the upcoming seventh film in the Child's Play horror franchise, will include several characters from across the series.
According to Entertainment Weekly, the story follows Nica Pierce (Fioan Dourif) who's been confined to an insane asylum for the past four years and still believes that she, not Chucky, murdered her entire family. However, several grisly murders start to suddenly plague the asylum once Nica's psychiatrist introduces a new therapeutic tool for his patients, a certain smiling Good Guy doll.
In order to escape, Nina will have to get help from Chucky's arch rival Andy Barclay (Alex Vincent), and go past Chucky's bride Tiffany (Jennifer Tilly). You can watch the teaser video for Cult of Chucky below, though it only includes footage from previous sequels as the seventh film hasn't started shooting yet.
Cult of Chucky will begin production January 9, which sees long-time series director Don Mancini at the helm. Mancini co-wrote the original 1988 Child's Play, and wrote and directed 2004's Seed of Chucky and 2013's Curse of Chucky.
The film will be released just in time for Halloween on Blu-ray, DVD, and Digital HD in an unrated version
