Beauty and the Beast is on track to have a huge opening weekend.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, the live-action remake will have a $120 million-plus opening. Fandango is also reporting its been selling advance tickets for the film at the same rate as comic book movies.
Disney's most successful live-action remake so far has been 2010's Alice in Wonderland, which had a $116.1 million opening weekend. Last year's Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice made $166 million and currently holds the March release window record. 2012's The Hunger Games made $152.5 million in its March debut.
Beauty and the Beast opens in theaters March 17 and will go up against Logan, Kong: Skull Island, and Power Rangers in that same month. While you wait for the remake, read about why Ewan McGregor had to rerecord his songs in the film and the physical challenges of playing Beast.
